Pilates is a full-body conditioning program that develops deep abdominal and back strength (core conditioning), together with increased flexibility. Movement exercises, based on Laban Movement Analysis and the Bartenieff Fundamentals with influences from three dimensional movement, Yoga, Dance, T’ai Chi and studies in biomechanics are incorporated to emphasize neuromuscular repatterning and movement rehabilitation.
